Sneak Preview and Please Introduce Yourselves

BS"D

Just to let everyone know, this Motzoei Shabbos we will be bringing you a report, live, from the Creedmoorer Shtibl on the Pluto Formerly Known as a Planet, where the Admou"r will be fiering tish and kishing tush for the first time since he opened the shtibl in....yes, 5779 (we will explain this as part of our exclusive report as well, so don't worry, we do know what year this is even if the Admou"r doesn't). The Admou"r will finally even explain why it is that Pluto is no longer a planet, and you will be very surprised to learn the real reason behind this cosmic decison.

Also, could inzere hyliger visitors please use the comments feature on this post to introduce yourselves? I'd be interested to see where you are coming from and what you think of what I realized is actually one of the longest, if not THE longest, running Jewish humor blogs in cyberspace.

A groysen dank,

Rabbi Dr Gimpel Pashkvilkemacher MD (Morally Defunct) for himself and for the late Rabbi Gedalia Dreckschreiber, Esq, Former Renowned Legal Malpractice Specialist, now "Deceased for Welfare and Insurance Purposes" and residing happily in the basement of the Ku Klutz Karta Masjid on Saddle River Road with his equally malfunctioning friends Imam Ismail Daoud al-Beyda (ne Weiss) and Ayatollah Moussa al-Dib Beck.

Thank you so much for the 'personal' invite; being a heiser chusid myself, I'm looking forward to this derheibener tisch mit Gut's hilf!

One question, ...what I realized is actually one of the longest, if not THE longest, running Jewish humor blogs in cyberspace... Is that our very own beloved CR by any chance?!?

Nice meeting you! The CR, if you mean YWN CR, was founded a year or two after Creedmoor Chronicles. This blog goes back to just before the Three Weeks, 5765, and is therefore over four years old according to all but Creedmoorer reckoning.

Hmmm..I am but the chronicler of the Creedmoorer kehilla, the owner and publisher of the "Der Shygetz" newspaper, the women's section "De Goyte", and the new teenage supplement "Oisvorf Cafe".
The Admou"r's Gabbai is Yaakov Koppel Ferdganver, who is serving a Sholom Weiss style term in Federal Koilel. He is ably assisted by the rav of "Frenkel's Shul leBnei Edoth HaMizrahh," Haham BaLeylot Rahamim Loyashar, whose column "Frenkly Speaking", written in Chozzer Ladino, is published in several newspapers that tend to circulate in Federal Koilel mikve dressing rooms and similar locations.

All that is important is that I am a Creedmoor Choossid and therefore one in 150 quintillion!

Obviously, this is a humorous site, but it is important that you know that Pluto still IS a planet, and that is not a joke.

Only four percent of the IAU voted on the controversial demotion, and most are not planetary scientists. Their decision was immediately opposed in a formal petition by hundreds of professional astronomers led by Dr. Alan Stern, Principal Investigator of NASA’s New Horizons mission to Pluto. One reason the IAU definition makes no sense is it says dwarf planets are not planets at all! That is like saying a grizzly bear is not a bear, and it is inconsistent with the use of the term “dwarf” in astronomy, where dwarf stars are still stars, and dwarf galaxies are still galaxies. Also, the IAU definition classifies objects solely by where they are while ignoring what they are. If Earth were in Pluto’s orbit, according to the IAU definition, it would not be a planet either. A definition that takes the same object and makes it a planet in one location and not a planet in another is essentially useless. Pluto is a planet because it is spherical, meaning it is large enough to be pulled into a round shape by its own gravity--a state known as hydrostatic equilibrium and characteristic of planets, not of shapeless asteroids held together by chemical bonds. These reasons are why many astronomers, lay people, and educators are either ignoring the demotion entirely or working to get it overturned. I am a writer and amateur astronomer and proud to be one of these people. You can read more about why Pluto is a planet and worldwide efforts to overturn the demotion on my Pluto Blog at http://laurele.livejournal.com

You think the Admou"r understands science? When you see why he arranged for the demotion you will see why your efforts to overturn it will never, ever pay off!

The Admou"r is an interplanetary scientist and intergalactic quintillionaire and his opinion is much more important than anyone else's.
